There's no future or money in medical billing. AI will take it over. There's no future in his plans. Retail is stressing him out?
GenSan is the tuna capital of the Philippines. If you're getting into fishing, it depends on how big your boat is, and on who your contact person or business partner is so you can do it legally. First you have to study the area, get permits from BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) for commercial fishing and a MARINA permit for the boat, and learn how profits are shared between the boat and the crew. If you're going for recreational rod fishing, you can do that in GenSan or other coastal areas.

Question — what are the requirements for Aussie babies to get dual citizenship??

Get a Macallan 18 or Glenfiddich 18 at S&R
Here's the cheapest way. From the seaport, walk a bit until you reach the port's terminal stop. From there it's 20 pesos; tell the driver the Panglao terminal by the museum. Once there, ask at the terminal, 'What do I ride to get to Libaong?' They'll tell you exactly, and it's only 50 pesos.

Your son is an adult, meaning he's over 18. His father has no legal obligation to help him. Your son should focus on his US citizenship. 1) Did you and his father file a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) for him? Many of us have filed a CRBA, and you get the US passport at the same time. Was your son ever issued a US passport? The CRBA application has to be submitted before his 18th birthday. 2) What if your son has no CRBA? If he got US citizenship at birth through his father, he can apply for a US passport. You'll need some help gathering the evidence. Would his father help you gather documents? Answer those two questions and we can work out what to do next. I'm a moderator of this group. Feel free to DM me. I help with a lot of these issues.
John Latour. Truck driving jobs don't pay much in this country. Unless you're willing to get $10 for 12+ hours a day... I suggest you stay home and save enough to retire in the Philippines.
Yes. As of September 1, 2025, applicants aged 40 or older with qualifying military service and an honorable discharge may qualify for the Special Resident Retiree's Visa (SRRV), even without completing 20 years of service, subject to PRA requirements.

It's a pre-existing condition, so they'll cover other things but not your diabetes. You'll have to pay out of pocket until you lose enough weight to get off the meds. If your type 2 isn't weight-related, maybe your doctor can give you something else that's available in the Philippines.
The hard part is getting him there, since it's about 24 hours of travel. I don't know what his assisted living costs now, but you could literally replace the whole setup: rent him a two-bedroom place (house, apartment or condo), pay all the utilities, hire a live-in caregiver and a live-out caregiver, cover all the food and transport, and it would probably cost less than half of what assisted living costs in the US.
T-Mobile.

Six months is longer than the IRS's published 9 to 11 weeks for ITIN applications submitted from overseas. And that clock starts from submission, not from when you paid the service. Ask the company for a copy of the submitted W-7, the submission date, and tracking or proof of delivery to the IRS. Also make sure the IRS checked under the family member's name, the actual applicant. The IRS having no record doesn't prove the company did anything wrong, but it's fair to ask for a clear explanation and proof of submission. I'm a software developer, and I took a quick look at the House of Bookkeepers website. It looked a bit sketchy.
You get 30 days visa-free when you land. If you plan to stay longer, buy a ticket out dated about 29 days after you arrive. I buy a $16 throwaway ticket from onwardticket.com.
I pay 50,000 pesos for RED HORSE INSURANCE
Does it have any advantage over the hundreds of other eSIM providers out there now? I'm guessing Wise is just reselling some third party's service.
An expat group is the wrong place to look. We're too spread out. There must be dozens of Filipino groups. I live in Eastwood, and everyone has a camera, video or photo.
