Hi everyone, has anyone here used House of Bookkeepers for an ITIN application? Almost 6 months ago we paid for their ITIN processing service for a family member (needed for a Fidelity / US stock claim). We called the IRS ITIN Operation to check, and they said they have no record of any application received under our name.
Has anyone here actually gotten their ITIN through them? How long did it take? Is it normal for the IRS to have no record after 6 months?
We're worried because we've already paid and we really need the ITIN to get the funds released. Any advice would be appreciated.

Six months is longer than the IRS's published 9 to 11 weeks for ITIN applications submitted from overseas. And that clock starts from submission, not from when you paid the service. Ask the company for a copy of the submitted W-7, the submission date, and tracking or proof of delivery to the IRS. Also make sure the IRS checked under the family member's name, the actual applicant. The IRS having no record doesn't prove the company did anything wrong, but it's fair to ask for a clear explanation and proof of submission. I'm a software developer, and I took a quick look at the House of Bookkeepers website. It looked a bit sketchy.
I've been fighting the IRS over an ITIN number for over a year. They keep rejecting it for one reason or another.
I just emailed them. They wrote back that they don't do ITINs anymore. So now I don't know.
Try Olongapo. I remember I applied for mine in Olongapo City.
