I finally watched the full version of Kung Fu Women's Soccer 2026.
It's a Stephen Chow film. It has already set a new box office record in China.
I've always been a big fan of Stephen Chow, so no matter what the movie is like, I'm just grateful that he made it.
This film is bigger in scale than his earlier movie Shaolin Soccer. It's an international tournament, and a Korean team appears with a fairly big role.
The movie shows you how Chinese people usually see Korea.
To win, the Korean team in the movie does every underhanded thing it can: honey traps, an eye-dazzling trick,
shadow punches, exaggerated acting to fake injuries, drop kicks, and more.
It even made the Korean news, and when you read the comments from Chinese viewers, the reaction seems to be, "Are they angry because it's the truth?"...
Chinese people generally dislike Korea about as much as Koreans dislike China.
And the official response from the film's side is that it's a fictional team and not the Korean team, but they openly speak Korean, so I thought that was a bit much.
Anyway, the Korean team appears from 40:30. They play a big part in the movie. Even the revenge at the end is perfect. The final match is, of course, against the Japanese team, whom they will have to face in a fight to the death someday.
