Has anyone here used Popcorn for phone service while living in the Philippines?

I'm moving to the Philippines next month and trying to work out the best phone setup. I want to keep my US number for banking, verification texts and anything else I still need to handle back home, and I'll also get a local Philippine SIM/eSIM for everyday use.

I came across Popcorn and it looks like it could be a good option, but I'd love to hear from people actually using it overseas.

How has it been for receiving calls and verification texts from the US? Any problems with banks or 2FA codes? And does it work reliably over Wi-Fi/data in the Philippines? The Tagaytay area in particular.

Also open to other suggestions if there's a better way to keep a US number while living abroad.

Yes, I use Popcorn and I'm very happy with it. It switches networks automatically depending on which carrier has the best signal. I can still handle business back in the States with no disruption.

I use Tello's $5 plan. 300 minutes of talk, no data. I rarely need to make voice calls, but I get OTP texts without any problems. I've got Starlink and a VPN for Wi-Fi calls if needed. My wife has a 899-peso Globe plan for local service.

I moved to the Philippines from Canada. I have two phones, one with my Canadian number and one with my Philippine number. When I needed online confirmations, I used Pizonet on the Canadian-number phone.

No, I use Boost International! $35...... Very cheap, and never any problems in the States or here in the Philippines.
