Anyone with type 2 diabetes, where did you get suitable health insurance?

I'm on Ozempic and looking for coverage that will cover me without having to go to a US territory.

Update: let me school you all! Type 2 diabetes doesn't go away, so it's not a matter of stopping the meds once you lose weight. Those of you telling me to 'clean up my life' are jerks. My weight got away from me a few years ago, and T2D runs in my family. I was diagnosed, treated, lost over 40 pounds, and my blood sugar went from 438 at diagnosis to 90 to 120 now.

I'm 5 foot 8 and weigh 175 pounds. I've already 'cleaned up' my life, so if you don't have anything useful to say, don't reply. There are some nasty attitudes floating around in here. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

It's a pre-existing condition, so they'll cover other things but not your diabetes. You'll have to pay out of pocket until you lose enough weight to get off the meds. If your type 2 isn't weight-related, maybe your doctor can give you something else that's available in the Philippines.

Most pharmacies in the Philippines have Ozempic. No prescription needed.

Good luck. I hope you find something that fits. I'm a fellow type 2 diabetic. I was diagnosed at 32 and I'll turn 51 in a couple of days. When I couldn't find health insurance, I got healthy instead. I used to take a handful of pills a couple of times a day, plus two injections. But I also know 'getting healthy' doesn't work for everyone. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

IMHO listen to FB, this is the result. You're going to have a hard time with a pre-existing condition. Makati Med has good dietitians who may be able to help you turn your type 2 around. Good luck boss ☁️☁️✌🏻 I'm type 1 diabetic, I work out 3 times a week for 2 hours. The Adventist hospital did my amputation. ☁️☁️✌🏻

You're the one who needs educating. Type 1 diabetes doesn't go away once you have it. Type 2 can and does go away. Maybe for you it won't, that's between you and your endocrinologist.
