The AMLC (Anti-Money Laundering Council) will flag you if transactions go over 500k pesos, and the same goes when you send money to the Philippines. Use a remittance app instead. BPI will also screw you on the exchange rate. Well, to be fair, every bank does.

Something magical happens going from step 3 to step 4. If you stack all the corners together, all you get is a lump of crap.
I'm an American living in the Philippines. There's good and bad here; it's a third-world country. I wouldn't move a whole family here, especially with young kids. But you do you
Yes, it's definitely possible. My first business was a fully remote content agency. Later I got into stock and futures trading and investing. In my opinion, there's nothing better than this. All you need is a computer and internet. No clients or employees needed, no traditional scaling limits, and no one to answer to but yourself. Of course, trading is extremely hard to learn and do well. But the rewards, flexibility, and convenience are hard or impossible to match in other fields.
"The dot fell off" is peak comedy

Believe it or not, you can buy it from insurance companies.

I see what you did there, Paul. It's not about coffee. You're quietly riding on Starbucks' market research. 🧐 Really clever. Anyone talking about the actual coffee missed the point.

> Circle one old object to get the kids' attention! This is the activity? Just circle any random thing? lol
Lawyer here. It's just a condo and a bank account, so it's not complicated. I'd charge 10k.

I'm really looking forward to the day I can receive my pension and still go anywhere in the world, yet choose this Third World metropolis.
Thank you so much for going with the bigger one, sir. I guess it's a squirrel.

I always put 'Exploring areas for retirement.' I've never been asked why or how long I plan to stay. I've been here two and a half years.
If you accept this side quest, you might end up locking yourself out of the main quest.

There's a meetup at Quoted Cafe every Thursday - I've never gone because of coding (that's my excuse ;) truth is, I'm not retired or free all the time) https://www.facebook.com/groups/2555821867893249 There's also a Baguio beer drinkers club that meets regularly, and Jonathan Myl is the head of that clan ;) https://www.facebook.com/groups/893707047440566 And there's the Wednesday Afternoon WASH. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1214969086134325 Jonathan Myl again.. And I've heard there's a hiking club (I'm not in it, so no idea what it's about) A few other things too, but hardly 'active' meetups. And NO, there aren't expats hanging around French Baker and such where you can walk in and grab a few, like some nutcases imply ;) No offense :D Lots of expats here are in MYOB (Mind Your Own Business) mode for various reasons. And a few, like me, try to fly low for way too many reasons. Good luck Are you an expat?
My first big mistake was in a jeepney, where I shouted 'bayag po' (bayag po).

You're using it knowing it too, right?
I had problems when I was trying to add extra baggage. I cleared the app's cache and then everything worked. Just a thought, could you try their website instead of the app?

Be yourself, who cares what other expats are doing! If you want it, just do it! Anything's possible with pesos!!!!!
