Children aged 11 and 3 taken from Pasay rescued in San Fernando, Pampanga — 37-year-old man arrested
📌 On the night of Monday, October 26, police in Barangay Malpitic, San Fernando City, Pampanga rescued two children, aged 11 and 3, who had been taken from their home in Pasay City, Metro Manila without their mother's consent, and arrested a 37-year-old man. Police are preparing to file charges of forcible abduction and violation of the Child Abuse Law (RA 7610).
■ How it happened
· At around 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, the two children were taken from their home in Barangay 184 (Maricaban), Pasay City, without their mother's consent.
· The man is the mother's former live-in partner. Reports differ on his relationship to the children — some say he is the father of both children, while another report (Daily Tribune) says he is the biological father of the younger child.
· The mother heard that the children had been seen in Malpitic and asked police for help; the children and the man were identified at the scene.
· At 10 p.m. on Monday, October 26, the Pasay police Maricaban Substation 7, together with the Women and Children Protection Desk and a social worker, located the children and arrested the man. Police in San Fernando, Pampanga also assisted.
■ Investigation and current status
· Police are preparing an inquest referral to the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office on charges of forcible abduction under Article 342 of the Revised Penal Code and violation of RA 7610. The man declined to give a statement.
· The man also has a separate, earlier-filed complaint against him, which is under preliminary investigation by the prosecutor's office.
■ Notes for residents and travelers
· If a child has been taken without consent, report it to the police Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) without delay.
· If you have information about a sighting, it is safer to verify it together with the police rather than going to look for the child yourself.
