I'm here on a tourist visa, and so far I've never stayed longer than a year without leaving the country. My next planned departure is around the end of next year, so I'd end up staying almost 2 years without leaving. In that case, is there any other document or ID besides the tourist visa that I'd need to keep my stay legal?
How long into your stay do you have to apply for the ECC? I'm leaving in March, and I'll be at 7 months by then.
Book your outbound flight first. Then go to Immigration 3 weeks before your flight to get your ECC (Emigration Clearance Certificate).
You mean you entered visa-free, right? You can keep extending for up to 3 years total. After that you have to leave the country. No extra documents needed. You just need exit clearance before you leave. You probably already know that, though.
