13A Visa / Temporary Resident Visa

Sharing some info for foreigners who want to apply for residency.

As far as I know, residency applications have to be processed at BI Manila (the main office). I went to the BI Cebu office in person to check, and they said they only accept residency applications from applicants aged 60 and over.

Is it like this at all the other BI offices besides the main office, or is this restriction only in Cebu?

If anyone has recent information or has successfully applied for residency at another BI office, please share your experience. Thank you!

Who says that? ???? That's wrong information. They accept both TRV and 13A, and they processed them in September too. Baguio accepts them as well, and so do many provincial offices, including Davao.

My wife was told the same thing at the Legazpi office. So after I arrived in Manila, I had it processed there. Then after the probationary period ended, I asked again and they said, 'Who told you that? We could have handled everything here from the start.' Welcome to the Philippines 🙃😂

If you're 40 or older and plan to live in the Philippines long-term, consider the Special Resident Retiree's Visa (SRRV). It has more benefits than other visas.
