Get out of Manila as soon as you can, don't waste a whole month there.
Yes, that's me. I've been living like that for 26 years. Most mornings I go out for a drive. I never go out in the evening. I eat out three times a week. I'm 84 now and I thank God for every new day.
I wouldn't bring him another one either. Screw a friend who blows you off like that.
Managing it from far away is a headache. It's better to rent for the first few years. There's a lot you won't know - mold, bad smells, theft, aging appliances, cockroaches, undiscovered leaks, and so on.. Hold on to your cash - cash is king these days.
The number of tourists in the Philippines keeps dropping. I have no idea why 🤔
I recently bought a house in the Philippines (September 2026). I sent the money from Navy Federal Credit Union to a BPI dollar account, and every transfer was completed and received within a day. After starting the transfer, I had to email the BPI branch manager to tell them the amount that would be coming in and the purpose. There were no problems at all.
It depends on what the illness is... I wouldn't come here. I'm disabled and there's no treatment available for me, so I just get by. If medical care matters to you, I wouldn't even put the Philippines on the list. I'm here to enjoy myself, not to live a long time 😎🍹🌴

Except for the cat by the door, who's just watching and judging everyone

Yes, this is exactly the kind of husband he is: - He pretended to get hit by a car when I asked him to film my social media video - He took a photo in front of some random childhood house and sent it to the family group chat He isn't even on social media, yet he's more popular on my account than I am, and it upsets me.

Kids crave a chicken coop! Let him be a chicken in there, you monster!!
If your arrival is on time, you should be fine. When I arrived at T3 it was surprisingly fast. The longest part is the baggage, which took 15-20 minutes after I got to the carousel. Have your eTravel ready ahead of time. Cebu Pacific check-in and bag drop are easy too. There are always staff around to help if you need it. You'll probably take a bus to the plane, so don't waste time getting to the gate. The last bus is usually 30 minutes before departure.

A true oasis.

The problem is safety ㅠㅠ

I haven't been to that many countries, but of the airports I've seen, the worst impressions were Manila and Cebu — basically the Philippines' airports. Rudeness is a given, and staff, guards or police watch you wide-eyed looking to shake you down. Other things I can tolerate, but the airport problem really makes me want to swear.

I thought La Grande was overpriced. Good neighborhood, but far from the action.
