Hi everyone! I'm looking for advice from anyone who knows Manila airport well.

I'm arriving in Manila (Terminal 3) from Chennai on Thai Airways on December 21 at 11:55 AM. On the same day at 3:30 PM, I have a domestic flight to Puerto Princesa with Cebu Pacific, which also departs from Terminal 3.

The two flights are booked separately and I have checked baggage. That means I'll have to go through immigration, collect my bags, clear customs, and check in again with Cebu Pacific.

My layover is 3 hours 35 minutes. Is that enough, especially during the Christmas peak season?

Has anyone done a similar self-transfer at NAIA?

I'd really appreciate any advice from those with experience. Thank you!

What the comments sayAI summary of comments

Many replies say 3 hours 35 minutes should be fine if your arrival is on time. Some people also said immigration at T3 and baggage claim went faster than they expected. However, others say 3 hours isn't a comfortable margin during peak season, and people recommend checking in online ahead of time with Cebu Pacific.

If your arrival is on time, you should be fine. When I arrived at T3 it was surprisingly fast. The longest part is the baggage, which took 15-20 minutes after I got to the carousel. Have your eTravel ready ahead of time. Cebu Pacific check-in and bag drop are easy too. There are always staff around to help if you need it. You'll probably take a bus to the plane, so don't waste time getting to the gate. The last bus is usually 30 minutes before departure.

The problem is probably that domestic baggage fees are crazy expensive...

If you're flying Cebu Pacific somewhere, good luck. Every time I've flown them it's been a nightmare. Departure delays, last-minute cancellations, last-minute gate changes, even closing the gate early. If you can, cancel and rebook with AirAsia. It's much better and not any more expensive than Cebu Pacific.
