Honestly, if you're dealing with Philippine bureaucracy, you might be hugely overestimating how much free time you'll have in Manila.

Congratulations and welcome. The 3-year ID option is only available during PRA caravan visits.

So I'm much happier being illiterate. Other than this part and the part explaining it, I can't read or write at all…

The Manila hostage crisis. Every mistake you could possibly make in a hostage situation happened that day. The police, the media, and the politicians all piled on together and made the situation bigger and worse.
I think most people are sympathetic.
A 9mm just casually falls out of the pocket lol. Common mistake. I do that a lot too when I'm jogging lightly or roughhousing with the kids
No. Use onwardticket.com. It's a legitimate ticket. The only difference is that it gets automatically canceled after 48 hours.
Our diet says it all. Tons of sodium, full of instant food. Not surprised at all. Still, it's better that people with CKD don't have to worry about dialysis costs. Better that people get back what they paid into PhilHealth than have the money leak to corrupt people. I wish the DOH would see this and do something about our diet.

They'll probably raise the fares right after that. Damn it.

I know what the general public is like, so I'm washing my hands anyway.
I'm also a foreigner living in the Philippines, and before selling your house in the US, I'd suggest traveling around the Philippines first to see how things are and pick where you'll live. As for the visa, on my second visit I applied for an extension first, and after that I renewed before each extension period ended... I chose to live in Quezon province, which isn't very popular with foreigners, and I rent a small, ordinary house near a river and live the way the local people do. I don't show off any wealth at all, I live quietly and try not to get too close to anyone... Be polite to everyone, but draw a firm line.

My wife won't even go near Mindanao. She says it's dangerous, for locals and foreigners alike.

Big king, small kingdom. Just like a parking lot guard in the Philippines. Still, running a big FB group is hard. You can't please everyone all the time, and there's a lot of work. Why don't you start a group of your own??

Ray Bolero's "Kung Kailangan Mo Bato" (If You Need a Rock) is still stuck in my head 😂
Counted 6 cars passing by on the side and one car flipped upside down. Now THAT's racing!

We're doing that too, and going on to Coron as well :)

And it seems Burger King in the Philippines is all owned by Jollibee too (about a 2% share).
