Ask him why God gives kids cancer, too.
It's the same cop-out answer for everything. 'God works in mysterious ways.'
The Sunday school kids must hate this one. Speaking from experience.
I got kicked out of Sunday school for being too into the Ninja Turtles. I drew a Ninja Turtle Jesus and that was it.
That's why you shouldn't put the idea of 'god' in kids' heads. Kids are trying to make sense of the world around them, and feeding them religious fairy tales just adds confusion. Nothing makes sense within the framework they're given, so they'll either spend their whole lives trying to find the reason, or they'll become blind followers with no critical thinking.
'They become blind followers with no critical thinking' — that seems to be the whole point.
If there is a god, he's a downright cold-blooded bastard.
A deeply insecure narcissist and a monster.
According to some Christians (especially 'young earth creationist' Christians), dinosaurs never existed in the first place. Growing up in a Christian household, that seemed to be the general consensus among young earthers. The weird thing is, it seems like it never occurred to them to ask what on earth these enormous bones and fossils are if not dinosaurs. Religion is so strange. Edit: A few young earth Christians replied below with their own answers. To sum up, it seems to be something like this: 1. Dinosaurs never existed 2. Dinosaurs existed, and we hunted them until they went extinct 3. Dinosaurs existed before humans 4. Dinosaurs still live in 'unexplored' regions like the Congo 5. Dinosaurs and humans lived together (they were roommates) 6. Dinosaur bones were buried by God to test your faith
