Why don't we have any sympathy for foreigners?
I haven't been able to sleep since I saw a video of a foreigner being shot in the head like a character in Call of Duty. He was probably somebody's friend, and he probably died in his thirties.
The person who posted the video said the man fought back to protect his chain (necklace). Don't people respect that we only get this one beautiful life?
It feels like if you move to the Philippines and take this kind of risk, your life ends up being worth nothing.
I think most people are sympathetic.
A lot of Filipinos would blow your head off over a 2,000-peso bucket of KFC chicken. And they'd sleep like a baby afterward without a shred of remorse. Life is just worth less here.
You've never lived near Chicago or Baltimore, have you? The same kind of people live there.
Before coming to the Philippines, foreigners usually have it drilled into them that if you flaunt expensive jewelry, clothes, or accessories while walking through a bad neighborhood, you can get robbed, hurt, or worse. But strangely, once they get here they think they're inside a protective bubble and that no longer applies to them. There are thugs and bad people everywhere.
