Good morning! May you start today with faith in your heart and a smile on your face. Remember, you're stronger than the challenges you face, and brighter days are always worth believing in.

I mean, it's Marketplace lol. It's the eBay of today.
Just glad to see Rocket made it.

Why does an expat's room look like a teenager's? My guess is this is just another Pinoy invading an expat group.

I'd be interested, but that'll be another 10 years or so, when I fully retire
That guy can ride! He's a total idiot, but he can ride.
Still using Grab. I tried Foodpanda, but when my orders started arriving with only half the items they did nothing, so I deleted the app.

I'm afraid vinyl isn't really a thing here in the Philippines. But back in the day we used to collect CDs and cassettes.

So it was a skill issue after all.
You've got 7,641 islands to choose from
TL;DR for everyone. A loser back home looking to be a loser in Asia.
One thing I love about the military: I got exposed to all kinds of people, so I get to surprise folks when I know their culture way better than they expect.

Good job! Much better post. This time you included the project's actual name, NSCR. That helps people know what you're talking about. This time you didn't use the term 'high-speed rail'... which is good, because these aren't high-speed trains. Your map is nice and spot on. Much better than the high-speed rail linking every island plus undersea infrastructure. Now to answer your question (again)... the NSCR will be completed. The money is in place.. right-of-way (ROW) disputes are being handled faster and more effectively. I'm attaching a screenshot of the planned dates. It's a phased approach. Hopefully they meet these dates. Looking forward to hopping on the train in San Fernando and riding into Metro Manila.

The house always wins in the end. I used to be on a responsible gambling team at an online casino, and you'd be shocked how many people get their lives wrecked by this, and in some cases even lose their lives.
Watch the guy who comes in wearing what I can only call a mint green t-shirt... Total mess. Picks up a wine glass, drops it, it smashes. Picks up another wine glass and throws it so far left the contents don't even reach the car. Then tries with a bottle. Same left side, same disastrous throw. Then kicks a bench and trips his buddy. Realizes he dropped something???? Then runs off and circles back around... A fart in the wind would've been more useful!
Apart from things with sentimental value, I'd suggest just buying everything new when you get here. It's probably cheaper than shipping all your stuff from the US.
No insurer I've seen will touch you once you hit 75, so it's pretty pointless — and if something happens in the next 12 months, they'll find a loophole anyway. You have only one option: self-insure. Keep the money, and you'll need a lot — something like 1 to 2 million pesos in an interest-earning account. Not in a Philippine bank. Just make sure someone you trust completely can access your passwords in case you're incapacitated, or have a high-limit credit card.
Classroom of the Elite: The Bento Arc
Try searching on Facebook. I've seen people advertise exactly this kind of service in various groups there.
I have, and got burned the first time. First, check prices at several kiosks. You'll probably get wildly different prices. Second, make sure you're getting a genuine Apple OEM battery. The first time I was sold an aftermarket 'AA' battery, and about 6 weeks later the voltage dropped and took out the motherboard. It's worth paying a bit more for the real thing. Finally, while they have your phone and are working on it, stay close and watch. It's not unheard of for less reputable kiosks to swap out other parts if they get the chance. I went to Greenhills in Manila, if that makes any difference. Good luck!
