Get indoor slippers lined with cotton instead of fleece. They keep your feet warm without getting too hot. You could also put an anti-slip coating on your tiles so you don't slip again.
Both are kind of pointless. They're nice, almost like a first-world city. But they're as expensive as a Western country. So what's the point of going to the Philippines?

I've been married 25 years to an age-appropriate wife from a good family. She's a dual citizen and was the big RN breadwinner in the USA.. we're retired with properties and investments.. all from hard work. Every word you said is true.. my only addition is that I'm always a foreigner.. never lose sight of that. I'm co-building a house on a lot I paid half of, and I'll pay half for a house to be built next year. I know I don't legally own it.. just be aware everything outside your marriage is transactional.. if it's a good marriage like ours. Don't fool yourself, enjoy the smiles, maybe the family will treat you decently.. but if my wife dies before me.. I'll give the house to her family, quickly sell our other property, and live in Thailand with my single partying buddy.

And yet Filipinos married to other Filipinos still can't legally divorce. So in practice some citizens have more rights than others, which means they aren't equal before the law.
A huge share of women on dating apps have no real intention of meeting. They're just there for validation. Your number one goal should be filtering out these time-wasters. It's the same everywhere in the world, and I think it's getting worse. Then a fair share will want something different from you. You want something serious and they want something casual, or the other way around. Dating apps peaked right after the pandemic, and now so many people are cynical and burned out from awful experiences. Meeting in person is back in style.

Beautiful family!!! My husband is Filipino too. We've been together 26 years and are very happy. Enjoy!

Many airline staff don't know the specific exceptions of the Balikbayan program by heart. By default they often just check the system for the general rule that applies to tourists (which requires an onward ticket). If the airline's system (usually TIMATIC) isn't read correctly, some staff may wrongly deny boarding. 2. Download and print an official notice from the Philippine Embassy or the Bureau of Immigration about the ticket exemption so you can show it at check-in if needed. 3. Plan B for emergencies: if the airline staff won't budge at all and refuse boarding, you can book a cheap, cancellable "dummy ticket" (e.g. through a dedicated onward ticket service) right at the counter on your phone to end the argument.
Let's take a look. This will take around 20 m³ of concrete, but I'll calculate with 21 m³. With a 1:2:3 mix (for simplicity), you'll need about 145 sacks of cement, 8 m³ of sand and 12 m³ of gravel. Cement is around 220 a sack. Call it 33k to leave some extra. Sand is maybe 7k per cubic meter, so 56k Gravel is around 8k per cubic meter, so 96k With rebar spaced at 60 cm you'll need about 75 pieces. If we go with 8 mm, figure about 250 per 6 meters. Roughly 19k. That's 204k for the concrete alone. Add forms, tie wire and admixture — I'd put in 20k. Let's round to 250k for materials and small incidentals. Now, since you'll be painting it, you actually want a fairly smooth finish. Broom finish is for walkways, not courts. I'd do a trowel finish and use rubberized chlorinated floor paint. 150 m² with 2 coats needs 16 four-liter cans of rubberized paint. At 2k a can, paint comes to about 32k. Add thinner, rollers and so on, and being generous you're looking at 40k. Allowing for inflated hardware prices, the total so far is 300k. Labor on 'pakyawan', meaning contracted per job, is around 50% of the material cost. 450k. I'd budget 500k for this. My basis: I'm an avid DIYer and laid a small concrete slab myself a few months ago… using Cavite prices from the start of the Hormuz crisis.
I've been doing it in one form or another for 23 years and never had a problem
Sounds kind of sketchy
