Jeong's Kitchen in Friendship.
It's a Korean BBQ restaurant.
The side dishes are generous and delicious. The staff grills the meat for you, so you can just relax and eat. I don't know the exact prices, but I remember them being similar to other Korean BBQ places.
The braised baby potatoes, a must-have for any Korean restaurant in Angeles, are also tasty.
The interior is nice too. There are many tables where middle-aged men bring their escorts and show off. It's entertaining to watch while waiting for the meat.
According to my friend, he used to come here regularly with his girlfriend when they were dating. When I asked why, he said that if you order just two portions of meat, refill the side dishes, and then order two bowls of rice at the end, they give you a free doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). This way, you can satisfy both your appetite and your taste buds within your budget.....
I remember my friend once asked me to guess why he orders three bowls of haejangguk (hangover soup) instead of a small or medium gamjatang (pork bone soup) when he goes to a gamjatang place with colleagues. I guessed that it's because a small gamjatang might be 30,000 won and a medium 40,000 won, while a haejangguk is 9,000 won, and if a small gamjatang has 6 bones and a medium has 8, and each haejangguk has 2.5 bones, ordering individual haejangguk is more cost-effective in terms of both price and quantity.
.......
I remember being so impressed by that way of thinking, prioritizing cost-effectiveness and rational consumption as if calculating ballistic missile trajectories.
