Tropical Depression May Enter Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday, Nov. 8 — Could Intensify Into a Super Typhoon

📌 On Friday, Nov. 6, the Philippine weather bureau (PAGASA) said a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) could enter the PAR on Sunday the 8th and may strengthen to super typhoon level. Once it enters the PAR, it will be given the name "Samuel."

■ What's changing
· According to The Manila Times, as of the 5 p.m. forecast on the 6th, the tropical depression was located about 2,865 km east of Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts of up to 70 km/h.
· It is moving northwest at 30 km/h and gradually strengthening.
· PAGASA forecaster John Manalo said it could intensify to super typhoon category. The projected track and whether it will make landfall were not given in this report.

■ Tips for residents and travelers
· If you are planning to travel in northern or eastern Luzon or take inter-island trips next week, check the weather bureau's forecasts and airline and ferry service announcements every day.
· Ferry service may be suspended if a typhoon warning is issued, so leave some flexibility in your schedule.
