Thailand is the answer. Bangkok prices (self-pay) BNH Hospital: fixed price of 220,000 baht, including supplies, procedure room, light sedation, and doctor and nursing fees. Until March 2026 there was a 185,000 baht promotion. (bnhhospital) (thethaiger) Vichaiyut Hospital: promotional price of 220,000 baht (reduced from the original 278,582 baht), valid May 15 to December 31, 2026. (vichaiyut) Bangkok Hospital: about 236k according to a forum post. This may be an outdated figure. (aseannow) Private clinics: usually 180,000 to 300,000 baht. One quoted 350,000 to 380,000 baht. (menscapeclinic) (bookimed) At today's exchange rate, 220,000 baht is roughly $6,000 to $6,500. Packages usually require a doctor's consultation first, so the final price depends on prostate size. Promotions change, so check with the hospital before booking. https://www.bnhhospital.com/water-vapor-therapy-english/

Just the idea of steam blasting into your urethra for 9 seconds makes me uneasy

The alternative is to raise your testosterone levels. That improves the prostate.

It's the natural enemy of older men. Living without ever feeling like your bladder is fully empty becomes the norm. But I'd try medication to shrink the prostate before going for a procedure. It may not be a fair comparison, but I remember someone on this site who had a prostatectomy where the urethral area got damaged, and now lives with a permanent catheter and urine bag. I think it was in the US. I'd only consider it if I were diagnosed with cancer, but I'm almost 80, so even without cancer I could die of something else. It makes no sense to spend a big hospital bill here just to live a few more years. It may sound depressing, but that's life.
