📌 On Friday, November 6, the Philippine peso closed at 63.055 per dollar, weakening from the previous day (62.97) and moving back into the 63 range. The same day, the Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) also closed down 0.28% at 5,761.95.

■ What's Changing
· According to PNA, the peso opened at 63.02 that day and moved between 62.97 and 63.19, averaging 63.06 (PNA lists the close as 63.05). Trading volume was about $1.2 billion, down from the previous day ($2 billion).
· Michael Ricafort, chief economist at RCBC, linked the peso's movement in part to global oil prices.
· The same day, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that the unemployment rate for September was 5.4%, up from 5.3% in August.
· The stock market fell after two days of gains on weakness in overseas markets and profit-taking, but foreign investors were net buyers for a third straight trading day ($15.6 million) (Manila Bulletin).

■ Tips for Residents and Travelers
· Exchange rates change every day, so when exchanging a large amount of money, compare the rates offered by different money changers and banks.
· If you're planning around a salary or remittance paid in pesos, one option is to watch the trend for a few days and exchange in installments.
