Pampanga Police Provincial Office Announces Tips to Prevent Motorcycle Theft and Home Burglaries
📌 On Friday, November 6, the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (Pampanga PPO) posted a series of tips on its official Facebook page to prevent motorcycle theft (motornapping) and home burglaries known as "akyat-bahay." Provincial Director Ricardo David urged residents to stay vigilant and report incidents promptly.
■ Preventing Motorcycle Theft
· Park in a well-lit, safe place, preferably a parking lot with security guards.
· Always take the key out, and use anti-theft devices such as disc locks and alarms.
· Installing CCTV at your home or parking space also helps.
· Don't lend your motorcycle to people you can't trust.
■ Preventing Home Burglaries
· When you leave the house, make sure to lock the doors and windows, and keep the lights on inside and outside the house at night.
· Equip your home with security devices such as CCTV and alarms.
· Don't post on social media that your home will be empty because of travel or being out.
■ Notes for Residents and Travelers
· If you see a suspicious person or activity, report it to the police right away. The police emphasized that a little caution and prompt reporting go a long way in preventing crime.
