Yesterday, I visited the Philippines 112 shelter, which was established to help those living difficult lives in the Philippines.

Inside, there was the representative and four residents of the shelter.

Since I was staying for just one day, I expressed my gratitude and shared the drinks I brought.

Although everyone came here for various reasons, I could see a glimmer of hope in their eyes, as they refused to give up. They have to cook their own meals, and even make their own kimchi. The sujebi (hand-pulled dough soup) we had last night was also made from scratch using flour they bought themselves from a large sari-sari store nearby. Despite these challenges, they all seemed to be getting along well, supporting each other without complaint. The refrigerator and kitchen were also stocked with various donated foods.

Even when sleeping, everyone gathered in the living room and slept together under the air conditioning.

The only drawbacks were the lack of toilet paper in the bathroom and no flush button on the toilet. Other than that, the indoor living conditions and hygiene were acceptable by Philippine standards. Of course, it might be challenging for those who are sensitive about hygiene. I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again to the representative for doing such wonderful work.

As I left after staying for a day, I wished for a bright future for everyone there.
