Since I live alone in the Philippines, I have no intention of mocking Filipinos. I wondered if poor Filipinos would ever give a cake or a gift to a Korean employee. Even if workplace cultures are different, would they have the intelligence to expect greater compensation or favors, knowingly or unknowingly, by forcing a smile and offering such things? I had my doubts, so I decided to prepare it myself. The gift is a tumbler exchanged with tickets won from playing the roulette at the SM Mall arcade for over an hour, spending a thousand pesos.
