Fear and despair. When I saw the difference in attitude toward life, along with the power and ability to prove it, I think I would feel just like that soldier—even if I wasn't at a massive disadvantage, that tiny hope that I might win if I just did my best would shatter, and I would fall into despair upon realizing that no matter what I do, winning is impossible.
