I've been in the Philippines for over a year now. I don't live in Manila, so I tried to extend my tourist visa through the BI website's online system. I heard that once you've been here for more than a year, you have to apply in person at the office? Getting to Manila would mean buying a plane ticket right now. I'm looking for the most reliable and convenient way. The website also seems to have connection problems from time to time? This time I was planning to extend for 2 months. The previous times I extended in 6-month increments, but to do that I had to leave my passport with them.

Thank you always for your help 🙏👍

Why do you think you need to go to Manila?? Can go to any immigration office near you to get 2 month extensions.

Ok I see you did 6 months which would have been in person and in Manila. I’m not sure if you can get any more 6 month ones as reports are not clear. But after 12 months in country current policy is you have to go in person. But for 2 months you do not have to go to Manila. Just the nearest office.

for that matter, after your 6th month you can no longer do through the BI Portal
