Google rating: 4.3.
Location & How to Get There — Located in the northeast of downtown Baguio, about a 15 to 20-minute drive from the city center (Session Road). From Angeles and Clark, it takes about 3 to 3.5 hours (approx. 175 km) by car via TPLEX, and about 3 to 4 hours by bus from the Clark Airport Bus Terminal or Dau Terminal. From the city, you can take a jeepney or taxi bound for 'Mines View'.
What to See — The observation deck offers sweeping views of the old mining valley and the ridges of the Benguet mountains below. It is famous for its stalls where you can rent traditional Igorot (Cordillera indigenous) attire for photos, or take souvenir pictures with decorated horses and St. Bernard dogs. The market leading up to the entrance sells Baguio specialties such as strawberry jam, ube jam, peanut brittle, woodcrafts, and textiles.
Admission — There is no separate admission fee, but an environmental fee for the observation deck area is charged: ₱10 for adults (ages 13 and older), ₱5 for children (ages 12 and under), and free for children 2 and under. Prices for traditional costume and horse photos vary by vendor, so negotiate in advance.
Tips — Going early in the morning makes it easier to catch the view before the fog rolls in and avoids the crowds. A typical itinerary includes visiting the nearby Good Shepherd Convent souvenir shop (famous for ube jam), Wright Park, and the presidential summer residence (The Mansion) together. Animal photo stalls have been subject to animal welfare concerns, so use your own discretion.
※ Fees are based on 2025–2026 travel blogs (no official rate sheet) and are subject to change (verified October 10, 2026).
Summary of Online Reviews
Based on four Naver blog reviews from 2022 to 2026, the most frequently cited highlight is being able to take in the mountain ranges surrounding Baguio and the old mining area at a glance without having to hike up a mountain. Many reviewers mention that the souvenir and local specialty stalls leading from the entrance to the viewpoint are relatively inexpensive, making them great for buying gifts, and experiences like wearing traditional clothes or taking pictures with decorated horses are commonly featured. A common opinion is that about 30 minutes is enough to look around, and advice is given to choose a weekday morning before it gets crowded or a day with clear skies. There are also reviews from people who went up at dawn to watch the sunrise. Some reviews note that there isn't much to do other than the view and shopping, while others mention being disappointed that the strawberries bought at the stalls were underripe.
