Location & Directions — Located on the beach of Liwliwa village in Barangay Santo Niño, San Felipe, Zambales. From Angeles and Clark, take SCTEX to Subic (Tipo Exit), then follow the national highway north past Castillejos, San Marcelino, and San Antonio. For public transport, take a bus from Olongapo bound for Iba or Santa Cruz, get off at the San Felipe public market, and take a tricycle for a 10 to 15-minute ride into the village. There are almost no ATMs in the village, so make sure to bring enough cash.

Surfing — Surf schools and resorts line the beach, making lessons and board rentals easy to arrange. Beginners must be accompanied by an instructor to rent a board. Waves are generally best from July to February (due to the southwest monsoon and big swells after typhoons), while March to May offers calmer waves suitable for swimming.

Fees — By executive order of the Municipality of San Felipe, tourists are charged an ecotourism tax (₱30 for adults) and a coastal conservation fee (₱20 per person, ₱20 per vehicle), which are usually paid upon checking in at your accommodation or at the barangay entrance. Surf lessons are around ₱600 per hour (including board and instructor), and board rentals alone are about ₱300 per hour (based on official resort rates). The municipal government has standardized beach activity rates, with ATVs at about ₱500 for 30 minutes and dragon boats at about ₱200 per person (as reported in April 2026).

Tips — There are no resident lifeguards, so watch out for rip currents; if caught in one, swim parallel to the shore to escape. In the evening, sandflies (niknik) are common, so insect repellent is necessary. It gets very crowded during Holy Week and weekends, so early weekday mornings are quieter.
