This person's writing style is really unusual. Each sentence is its own paragraph. I guess they think that adds weight and a dramatic feel. It doesn't really work that way. It just makes them sound like a clown who thinks they're a genius.

You pointed out my really unique writing style. But I'm such a tiny, insignificant person at work that now I'm worried about my work notes. Ugh. I'm going to completely change how I communicate at work.

It's okay. You really learned a lesson, and you'll carry it with you for life. Don't let the negative stuff cloud your potential. You've already grown from this moment and you're ready to do bigger things.

I write emails like this too, because most people don't read them if the paragraphs are too long. x_x I'm not going to stop.

'I spilled coffee on my keyboard. It didn't just teach me a messy inconvenience, it taught me something about project management.'

Spilled coffee on my keyboard, and here's the management lesson it taught me ☕⌨️ This morning at 7:42 AM, I spilled an entire venti oat milk latte onto my keyboard. My first instinct? Panic. My second instinct? Leadership. Let me explain. 🧵 As the brown liquid seeped between the keys, I watched the 'E' key die. Then the 'R'. Then the spacebar. In that moment I had a profound realization: My keyboard is a team. Every key has a role. There's the Enter key, which takes all the glory. And there's the Scroll Lock, which shows up every day and nobody knows what it does. (To the Scroll Locks on our team: I see you. I still don't know what you do, but I see you.) Here's what the 'Great Latte Incident of 2026' taught me: 1. Spills happen. What matters is how you absorb them. I grabbed a paper towel. Did that fix everything? No. Did it show my keyboard I care? Absolutely. Sometimes, when your team is drowning, showing up with a paper towel is enough. 2. Flip it. IT told me to flip the keyboard upside down to drain it. Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to view it from a completely different angle. Literally. Upside down. So I started holding my one-on-ones standing on my head. 3. Some keys will be sticky. Don't give up on them. My 'J' key is still a little sticky. But I haven't replaced it. I believe in second chances. (Also, procurement said the lead time is 6 to 8 weeks.) 4. Not every spill is a crisis, but every crisis is a spill. Let that sink in. 🤯 5. Rice doesn't work. Micromanaging doesn't either. I left the keyboard in a bag of rice for 3 hours. No effect. Know what else has no effect? Hovering. Let the keyboard dry at the keyboard's pace. Let your team dry at theirs. I shared this experience at our 9 AM standup (it lasted 47 minutes), and Alex said, 'Greg, couldn't you have just used a spare keyboard from the supply closet?' You know what? That's exactly the kind of thinking I want on my team. Proud of you, Derek. 🙌 So today I didn't lose a keyboard. I gained a framework. It's called S.P.I.L.L.: - Stay calm - Paper towel - Invert your perspective - Let it breathe - Leverage the supply closet I'll be presenting S.P.I.L.L. at our Q4 offsite. Attendance is mandatory. Agree? 👇 What has your beverage taught you about leadership? You're clearly a straightforward, down-to-earth person, and you've got executive-level presence written all over you.

I've never understood the 'humbled by ~' line (with a brag inserted here). Like, they won some top-whatever award and that made them humble? Shouldn't achievement build confidence? Is this just a polite way of bragging?

It's really strange that there's an entire social media platform for people who use worn-out buzzwords and just sniff their own farts.

I really hate getting emails and messages where someone just sends something and writes only 'Thoughts?' It's like they shouldn't have bothered me with this for my opinion.
