Why is everything privatized?
Beach areas and resorts are all managed by companies, for reasons like reservoirs and marinas.
All the beaches are inaccessible.
In Europe, in Croatia, beaches cannot be privatized or blocked off.
You can't even walk to the end of the beach, because they block anyone who isn't staff from getting in.
The beach itself is never private property. As for access, there's no law requiring a landowner to let you cross their land, but there's often a public access path nearby. Once you're on the beach or the coastal path, you can go anywhere along it, even in front of anyone's property.
Welcome to the Philippines!
Many private beachfront owners in local areas are local government politicians themselves or people who just lend their names to the property, so they block strangers from passing through their beach land, even though the coastline is considered public property.
