When a friend says, "It's on me"
We must be living in the worst timeline. It's obviously a skit, so why are so many comments treating it like it actually happened in front of the camera?
That's because of bots. Bots have been filling comment sections for quite a while now, especially on YouTube and social media.
"Quite a while" is the understatement of the year. Reddit has been using bots to pump up engagement since day one.
I thought he was about to pull out the Blue Box from Mulholland Drive.
That doesn't work, man. Last time, it got me the cops called on me.
So what happened?
They were clean cops. What were you thinking?
This is a setup I saw a lot on TV and in movies as a kid, and I've always wondered how much it's based in reality. How many dishes would you have to wash to cover your own meal? Plus the restaurant already has a dishwasher, so it's not like a customer with no money is filling a need. The restaurant loses out on the $20 or whatever either way. I remember a Hey Arnold episode where some kids went to a fancy restaurant thinking they had a gift certificate, but it turned out to be for a different restaurant. Even by that era's standards they would've ordered like $100 worth of food in total, and in the end they had to wash dishes.
It doesn't happen in real life, because hygiene and safety standards don't allow it.
Like they'd ever pay the dishwasher enough to afford eating there lol
