I just watched a video of Costco sale items in the US, and it's strange how many similar things, like household goods, kitchenware, and cleaning supplies, you can't find anywhere in the Philippines, including Lazada and other online sellers. Amazon doesn't ship many of the items I saw to the Philippines either. It's a shame that we can't get so many useful products here, whether from Costco or other sellers.

If you decided to come to the Philippines and settle here, you have to be ready to accept what this country gives you and adapt, or else stay in the US. Every country has its pros and cons 😊! What you can live without is up to you 🤷🏼‍♀️!

What Lazada Changed

I want to say the Philippines has really changed a lot. When I first set foot here in 2012, I couldn't buy coffee or a coffee maker (percolator), so I brought a French press from overseas just to drink coffee that wasn't 3-in-1. Lazada was really the first mover, but it wasn't an app, it was a slow, unreliable website, and it started that same year, 2012. In 2013 I became able to order a coffee maker. And now in 2026, with my Lazada app (I like it better than Shopee), I can order whatever comes to mind, even though I have to wait 1 to 4 days. It gets delivered to my rural barangay address with GPS coordinates. I just made a peach cobbler with cinnamon and drank Bustelo coffee with milk! I also made American-style spaghetti with thyme and rosemary, not the sweet kind, using imported Italian No. 3 spaghetti made from durum semolina, not the bread-flour spaghetti from this town's market. Packages keep coming, at least 5 a day on average. Groceries, spices, electronics, motorcycle parts, clothes, nails, roof ventilation turbines, wall partitions, generators, tools, even a washing machine. I don't have to drive an hour to the nearest town. So I'm really satisfied. I don't know what it is that Costco has that you can't get here, is it a specific brand? If it's a brand issue, you have that problem in any country. For example, even Heinz ketchup in the US has sugar as its first ingredient. In other countries? Tomatoes.
