You're the ones who brought the tourists and expats on yourselves. If you're tired of LBH (low-budget hookers) showing up, make the place somewhere high-end tourists and expats want to live.
How do you think tourists and expats in Switzerland differ from those in the Philippines?
If the first thing a newcomer experiences in the Philippines is a taxi that charges four times the Grab fare as soon as they walk out of NAIA, good tourists get driven away.
If there are power outages almost every day, good tourists get driven away.
(Restaurants) If the food costs twice as much as in Thailand but the nutritional value is on par with soggy noodles, good tourists get driven away.
If every shop needs a security guard, good tourists get driven away.
If hotels cost twice as much as in other Southeast Asian countries but offer only half the experience, good tourists get driven away.
You drive away all the decent people, then complain that what's left is LBHs and people who want to date someone 30 to 40 years younger.
The problem is the lack of infrastructure. People are willing to pay more money. It's everything else that's hard to accept.
This is the Philippines, bro. What are you even trying to say? I ignore the LBHs and just do my own thing. Get out of your own head a bit. It's not that serious.
It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it's right. Japan doesn't have the problems you mentioned, yet the LBH expat ratio is huge.
Yet another old man yelling at the clouds today.
