True story. About 30 years ago I was developing a software product (pre-PC era) with a joint UK/US team. One screen panel had a data field called "country," and the American designer had to abbreviate it to save space. Guess what he abbreviated it to — no prize for getting it right. After I stopped laughing, explaining why that choice was a bad one was hilarious...
