My girlfriend's cat does this to me. I go upstairs, it follows me. I go downstairs, it follows me. I go to another room, it follows me. If I sit, it climbs onto my lap. If I lie down, it climbs onto my chest. If I'm doing something, it 'helps'. I'm that spot.

"My steak is too juicy, and my lobster is too buttery"

Seriously, my grandma once complained that her steak was too juicy. But she's the type who'd grumble that perfection is too perfect if you served it to her.

I call this 'critical narcissism'. They have to criticize everything, or else they lose the self-assurance that they always 'know better'. Some people have ended friendships over this.

'I'm that spot' _____ If you go upstairs ~ I'll go up too If you go down, I'll follow you If you go anywhere else I'll be there Right under your nose… So sit down, friend ~ I need a lap (the perfect spot for a nap) You're mine ~ you're 'that spot' Cherish it! The best thing you have ❤️ Added: to everyone who has ever been 'that spot' Long ago, far away, my dog chose to stay by my side On my lap, on my bed - lay on top of me Ah, I miss that one… 'This one is too big ~ this one is too small' He liked my mom best I remember him pinning me down His eyes begged, 'Don't get up…' There were other pets too, but only that one stayed in my heart Those little paw prints remain I knew I was the 'chosen one'… But life goes on and we grow old Now my lap is sometimes cold I hope that dog heard enough of how much I loved him ❤️

As a cat owner, yes, that's how it feels. And I love it. I love seeing them love that spot and feel comfortable there. It's annoying sometimes, but it melts my heart. Like, look at that face, so pleased with itself.

He'd probably pay rent to the cat too, right?

You don't?

That's one of the reasons I hate Sheldon.

I don't get it. You sat in the boss's seat, the boss politely corrected the behavior, and you wisely complied. That sounds like a pretty normal situation. Don't do it again, or it'll show up as a turd in your shoe on your performance review.
