I'm preparing to switch my salary direct deposit to a Philippine bank. Has anyone done this? I'd like to know what was needed, how long it took, and whether there were any delays.

Don't do that! There's no need to. Just send it to yourself through Wise or WorldRemit.

You didn't mention which country you're from, or what you're trying to deposit directly. If you're American and receiving Social Security (SS): About 10% of members in this group receive their SS through Philippine banks, and 90% use US banks. The 10% who use Philippine banks run into all sorts of problems like proof-of-life requirements and delayed payments. Those people make up 90% of the posts, but they're only 10% of the members. I learned this from being an admin.

I've had no problems with Wise or my BDO account.

WF (Wells Fargo) has an international remittance app. It sends US dollars to foreign banks in the local currency... and the fees are low. I send money to my wife's account, since I can't open a bank account until I get my green card.

Be careful, especially with BDO.
