Hi, I'm Steve. I'm from near Chicago, Illinois, in the US. I'm arriving in Manila on the 30th, but I want to be in Angeles on the 31st. What are my options for getting there? Cheap flights or bus routes, that sort of thing.
Also, I'm planning to bring about $600 in cash and exchange it for money to spend on tips and other little things. I can use a card for the rest, right? I'd appreciate any advice. And if anyone knows of a place, I'm also looking for a place to rent monthly.
Thanks in advance. God bless.
It's the 5 Star Liner. The buses leaving Manila are pretty cheap, you can sleep on the way, and they stop for breaks and meals. Don't get ripped off buying stuff from the vendors the driver lets on.
If you bring US cash... make sure it's crisp and undamaged. Damaged bills can't be exchanged, so they become useless. Also, at the airport only exchange "as much as you need for that day"... the rate is terrible. There are much better places.
You should have flown straight into Clark. But if it's too late to change your ticket, just take the bus. You'll get tons of offers to take you straight to Angeles. Don't. Just take the bus. Trust me. One time a taxi driver was supposed to take me to the bus station. It was around midnight and this bastard kept insisting he'd drive me to Angeles himself. When I said no, he deliberately took me to the wrong bus terminal. Listen... I called my daughter's mom and she snapped at that bastard! She said I took a photo of your plate number and I'm recording you, blah blah blah! (All lies!) "If anything happens to him, something will happen to you in a few days too!" 😂😂😂 After that he stopped playing games, but I was lucky. That bastard was about to drop me off somewhere in Manila in the middle of the night. 😒
