I spent 6,000 pesos in a single day living a Western lifestyle!

I'm telling this to people who think the Philippines is cheap. And yes, it really is cheap, but only if you're willing to live at a lower standard than a Western one!

Yesterday I did a simple grocery run for 1,500 pesos, paid 2,000 pesos for the day's accommodation (rent), and spent 2,500 pesos on dinner.

So I did hardly anything, and 6,000 pesos disappeared in one day.

I'm not sure exactly how much money you need per month, but I'd guess it's around 200,000 pesos.

This post is crazy. Daily rent? What's that lol, are you talking about a hotel? You spent $100. If you're paying monthly rent, that's not a big amount at all.

In this group, I honestly can't tell which gets recycled more, romance drama or cost of living complaints lol. It's either a post complaining about a girlfriend on vacation or one complaining about prices.

Yeah, it really comes down to lifestyle. Most Filipinos live on about 30,000 pesos a month. 200,000 a month? That's a rich person's thing lol. I live comfortably on 80,000 to 100,000. It's just a matter of lifestyle and choices. What's funny is people who say under 100,000 isn't enough, when they want the best of everything in the most comfortable way and then complain about it.

2,500 pesos is $40... for one person, one dinner... don't you think that's excessive?
