Do you check a Filipina's social media before a date?
Recently a Filipina suggested a date pretty soon after we matched.
For safety and so I don't get fooled by a fake account, I always ask for their Instagram. I don't actually follow them, I just want to see who they really are. I don't follow them.
But this one said she "only uses Instagram to talk to her family" and didn't want to share it. To me, the real reason was that she was hiding something.
Is it too much to ask for someone's Instagram or Facebook to know who you're going out with? In the end you're spending money and several hours of your life on someone. Treating it as normal not to know who you're dating seems a bit crazy to me. Just my opinion.
I'm not sure I'd demand to see her account before a first date. Maybe meet her and see how it goes.
If you're an open book, it's fine to look for another open book. If you're private, don't be shocked when the other person is private too. Also be aware they might share their 'dating' profile instead of their real one.
I don't share my personal account with people I match with on a dating app either, not until I've gotten to know them for a while. It's not that I'm hiding anything, it's just personal. You don't hand your personal account with your private life on it to a stranger. I think wanting to meet right away is good. You don't waste time and you find out immediately whether you click and whether you're physically attracted. Instead of talking for weeks and then realizing when you finally meet that she's not what you expected, which is a lot of wasted time. If she's a catfish, you can just leave.
You realize they have like 7+ accounts and give you whichever one they want you to see depending on how they feel about you?
Yeah, she could be a single mom, or have a boyfriend, or even worse, a husband (then you're committing a crime / risking your life). Depends on age though Also, a first date doesn't have to take a lot of time or money. Go for coffee and grab some fast food, it can be a 1-hour date
Ughhh, must be sad not being able to get a date in your own country.....hmmm
