I have doubts about the inspector's qualifications

I'm a civil engineer, and I've studied alongside sons of bitches and I know an inspector who's a son of a bitch. By definition that means a dog

Pinky has the hard hat, the hi-vis vest, even the clipboard. What's so suspicious about that?

Why is one side nails and the other side screws?

It's a YouTube Shorts lesson video from the Haus Plans channel. It's showing that you can use either nails or the proper screws.

I'm not a builder, but my stepdad is an engineer and we built a house together. When driving the framing braces for the house, we always used a mix of both. Nails have higher shear strength (resistance to sideways force) and screws have higher tensile strength (resistance to vertical force). They serve different purposes, so using both is best. Someone else said it's a lesson showing you can use either one, but I don't think that's the reason. I think it's deliberately showing you to use both. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I recommend searching "difference between nails and screws" to understand it better. It's really interesting. ETA: I heard that in the full video it says one or the other, sorry. Anyway, it was interesting to learn that they serve different purposes. Sorry.

It's a YouTuber called Housplans. He explains building materials and construction methods, so he drove nails into one side and screws into the other.. He's just explaining, but this asshole who clipped just the video with no sound and doesn't credit the source.. only cares about his Reddit karma or free awards or whatever

Looks like the dog is saying "No, you didn't even use a level"

Not very impressive. Why not just put 2-3 pieces of 30cm rebar in the concrete from the start? With the leverage from this long piece of wood, it would snap easily

True, but that's for Inspector Pinky to decide
