I've visited the Philippines and I'm hoping to retire there…

I've visited the Philippines and I'm hoping to retire there soon, but I have bad arthritis and fibromyalgia. I can't seem to find much pain medication, and I can only bring a month's supply of mine at a time. Besides faith healers, which I've already been to see, what are doctors there giving for pain?

I'm an Army veteran and I have both of those conditions too, plus a knee replacement, two back surgeries and more. I haven't taken anything since I've been here except my own natural remedies. I make a ginger and turmeric tea with lemon rind and a good pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Grate it all into a pot, fill it with purified water, bring it to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes. Let it cool and bottle it. I drink about 150 ml a day, or twice a day if I'm really sore. Works for me. The black pepper is essential, it helps the body absorb the turmeric by 2000%.

Don't worry about meds, just eat the right foods and you'll feel much better

I had the same issue. This, plus eating healthy food like here in the Philippines, is my cure. There are also rheumatologists here who give biologic meds and infusions. It's a little costly, but nothing like in the States. For a major flare I take a prednisone Z-pack. Good luck

I have the same condition in the UK, but I find the pain easier to manage in the Philippines with the warm weather and healthy eating

You can go to the doctor nearest to where you'll live. There are good doctors there too
