Ramen Nagi limited-edition ramen price comparison: 2017 (₱440) vs. 2026 (₱795)
440 in 2017 was really expensive. That was barely a year into PNoy's term. Back then, 440 would cover about four meals.
Ever since I tried ramen in Japan, I can't make sense of Ramen Nagi's prices. I know there are imported ingredients and inflation, but a 1,500 yen ramen with chashu and all the toppings comes to roughly 600 pesos there, while at Ramen Nagi a single bowl plus the service charge goes over 600 right away, so I can't help comparing.
That's about 6% a year, which probably roughly matches cost inflation. Blame the governments that printed money during COVID, not the business owners. Also, Philippine wages over the same period rose 4-6% a year.
It's more expensive than even Mendokoro and Ippudo? Ramen Kuroda is much better value than those.
