Is there anything I need to do when arriving in the Philippines? Like vaccines or eTravel requirements. I'm flying to Cebu in a few weeks.
You can fill out eTravel up to 72 hours before you arrive. Most people do it before leaving home. Any vaccines should be done before you arrive. Like with any country, check with your GP or pharmacy about what you need.
Make sure you get Off mosquito lotion from a local pharmacy. It smells better than the Off spray. Either way, don't take chances with mosquito bites. Dengue is rampant.
There are 'recommended vaccines' to update (hepatitis, tetanus, measles, Covid, pneumonia) and 'suggested vaccines' (malaria, if available in your country). Nothing else except mosquito prevention
eTravel is required, and know that it's completely FREE. If you're asked to pay, it's a scam. Bring plenty of mosquito repellent! Dengue fever is real, and the mosquitoes aren't picky and they're serious! Good high-SPF sunscreen too. Also, don't drink the water even at most restaurants; always ask if it's filtered. Don't use the ice cubes, and definitely not the water refilling stations. Carry your own toilet paper and wet wipes everywhere. Keep your money and important belongings close to you at ALL times. Learn the phrase "Hindi po!" (No!). There are many, many beggars and children
Yes, have your wallet ready for the girls
