License renewal
My 5-year LTO license expired, so today I went to Olongapo SBMA and got the new 10-year version.
It was pretty painless.
First, a 650-peso medical right next door, no issues
Then at LTO you now have to register an online account so you can do the e-learning, about 30 questions on a PC. I didn't know them all, so I googled a couple, like the minimum age for a license, which is 17, same as my home country.
Then another 650 pesos or close to it, and checks on your photo, signature and index fingerprints.
Ta-da, I got a 10-year license..
I think it took about 20 minutes for the medical and 45 minutes at LTO ..
Wait, you have to take a test again when renewing your driver's license here?
What visa are you on?
Last time I renewed and got a 10-year license, I don't remember doing much. Took the online test and printed the results with a QR code. Went to a little medical office for a certificate, then to LTO, got my picture taken and walked out with a 10-year license
That's how they do it here, and maybe less for locals, I don't know ..
Thanks, good info.
