Hi, I booked an appointment at the US Embassy in Manila for my baby's CRBA. They scheduled it for November 6, but my husband (a US citizen) is still in the US and won't arrive in the Philippines until November 12. Can I reschedule my embassy appointment??? How many days does it take the US Embassy to reply to a reschedule email??
We just finished our CRBA a couple of weeks ago. Easiest process ever. The interview took less than 5 minutes. The key is having every document they ask for (originals and photocopies). Since your appointment isn't until November... definitely email them, or have your husband email them, to reschedule. I sent a reply with a question and got an email answer back in 2 days. The only catch with rescheduling is... the new appointment could end up in December or even January. Hope this helps, good luck.
I'd rebook your husband's arrival and make sure he's with you for your baby's CRBA, since that's easy and less hassle. If not, maybe reschedule, but then getting another appointment might be delayed.
The US Embassy in Manila required my firstborn here in the Philippines to take a DNA test because I wasn't married to the kids' mom. The DNA test kit was ordered from an authorized lab in the USA, and the samples were sent back there for processing. They also had a field inspector do a fact-finding interview. Now both my sons are US citizens through CRBA and receive monthly Social Security benefits until age 18.
The US Embassy does a great job with CRBAs. Everyone passes unless there's some red flag they have to deal with (I mean like 98%). The embassy wants to get this done. It's in everyone's interest. Nobody knows their current workload, but the embassy knows what's at stake. If they can fit you in after November 12, they will. I know you're nervous. Trust the process. I have something like 50 DMs from nervous guys panicking over CRBAs. Please post and let us know what happens. The whole fiancé and spousal visa system is in a bit of chaos right now, but CRBA is untouched by that nonsense. Good luck.
You can also go to an embassy outreach as a walk-in if there's one in your area. There's one in Bacolod on October 8 and Iloilo on October 9, but neither helps you
Hi, may I ask how to book an appointment at the US Embassy in the Philippines?
