Hi everyone, I just joined the group.
I'm flying from Iowa and landing in Manila on November 4.
I'm planning to stay 30 days, but I'm going to look into extending my visa.
My question: how do I extend a visa and where do I do it? Is it a hassle? How long is each extension good for? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On arrival, after you get your free 30-day visa waiver, you can go to the Immigration One-Stop Shop on the 3rd floor government area of NAIA Terminal 3 and get a 29-day extension (4,070 pesos). You can also get this later on the Immigration website (OAPS) by clicking "visa waiver," or at any immigration office. Before your first 59 days run out, you have to go to an immigration office in person for a one- or two-month extension and get your ACR-I card issued (8,500–9,500 pesos). After that, extensions up to one year can be done online (OAPS) by clicking "Tourist visa extension," or at an immigration office. After one year, all extensions have to be done at an immigration office. If you apply at an office at least 10 days ahead, you can skip the express lane (saving 2,000 pesos).
Hi Mark, your first extension is for another 30 days. Make sure you go to immigration wherever in the Philippines you're staying before your current visa expires. Bring your passport, obviously. It'll cost around 3,000 pesos. Be kind, friendly and respectful to the immigration officer and to the locals too. Enjoy your time on the islands. Filipinos are wonderful people
You can extend right at the airport. It's an extra 29 days.
You can extend for 1 or 2 months at a time
Just buy a dummy return ticket. Make the dummy ticket's date December 1, then apply for the tourist visa on November 30
Use the group search. This question gets asked every day, you'll find the answers.
