We all know the usual Filipino dishes and cooking. Any suggestions for more interesting Asian or American recipes using ingredients you can buy at Philippine markets? So far I've made fruit salad and cucumber salad.

필리핀 요리랑 조리법은 다들 알잖아요. 필리핀 시장에서 살 수 있는 재료로 해 볼 만한 좀 더 색다른… 1/3

We make lasagna, potato salad, burgers, pizza, chicken schnitzel and multigrain bread. All easy to make with ingredients from local stores. And Bloody Marys at sunset!

My wife Genelyn is a lot like Minnie Love Santos. She orders her spices from Shopee and Lazada, where pretty much every spice is available. We live in a 5th-class municipality 40 km from Dipolog, a small provincial capital in Mindanao (pop. 148k). What CAN'T we buy? Veal, fresh SWEET beets, chicory, and fresh cilantro often isn't available. Genelyn grows lots of herbs. Bottom line: with a few exceptions, Genelyn can and does cook any dish we want to eat.

Cook sampayna. The best-tasting native dish from the south.

Also avoid these disgusting ready-made sauces and cornstarch mixes.. they don't look like adobo and don't taste like adobo it's not the real adobo recipe… This ended up on my plate at a restaurant 😱
