Singer performing the Canadian national anthem forgets both the lyrics and the tune
I can understand forgetting the lyrics, especially if you don't speak French..... But how do you forget the basic tune???
By not being Canadian
Just saying "O Canada" naturally, the rhythm of the syllables gives you the tune. You can mess up the notes or the words, but the tune is nursery-rhyme level.
I can't judge her French, but I think she mixed up the tune with the Genovian national anthem.

A friend in college used to sing the national anthem at sporting events, and once he was off-key from start to finish. He said he panicked. I told him that if it ever happened again, he should fall down and pretend to have a seizure.
It's a bad performance, but maybe she just got stage fright. It's happened to me too. Not for a long time, but I once forgot the words and the tune to a song I wrote myself. It's possible she didn't prepare properly, and if so, shame on her, but it's also very possible she just got stage fright, and we should all leave her the fuck alone, because being in that situation and trying to carry on really sucks.
