I just had my first experience of healthcare in the Philippines. I went to a dermatologist at a private hospital to check a suspicious mole behind one ear. She took a biopsy sample on the spot, and a week later removed it by laser, again with no waiting. No complaints about the service, and the problem was sorted in a week.
I paid 27,000 pesos in total. Does that sound about right, or did I get ripped off?
Don't assume you're always being ripped off because you're a foreigner. That's a reasonable price, cheap even. You got a good deal.
In the United States they'll charge you $500 just to take your temperature.
You're much better off going to Thailand. I wouldn't trust anything in the Philippines
Why do foreigners turn into such assholes when they live in developing countries? Would they even question the cost in the USA, Australia or the UK?
I'd like to know which hospital. Sounds like a good one to keep in mind.
