They didn't think it through

What's so weird about November 9th?
November 9th is when the Nazis began attacking Jewish people. The Night of Broken Glass (Kristallnacht). Or if you're in the US and tend to read dates month-first, September 11th was a major terrorist attack on New York City and Arlington, Virginia. Both had lasting effects on the world.
Or another German event: November 9th is the day the Berlin Wall fell. Another event with lasting effects.
Never forget our low, low prices
Not everything revolves around the US, you know.
Maybe it's actually two shops down from 7-Eleven (7/11)
7/11 was a part-time job.
I'm in Thailand and had to explain the joke to most of my coworkers. Does it not land outside the US?
Nah, because the rest of the world doesn't care. We moved on.
Yeah, nobody outside the United States really cares about 9/11.
