How respected is a McDonald's manager job?
So, will Filipinos do backflips and applaud when they hear I manage a bunch of people and get paid 100,000 pesos a month plus social security? That's about three times their top salaries.
And managing people at a restaurant is now a pretty respected job, so some Filipinos even ask me how much I make. They're shocked when I say 100,000 pesos.
So I'm literally in the top 10%, working as a manager, which not just anyone can do, running my own squad that serves customers from every walk of life.
A legit job is a job. Especially one that pays well by Philippine standards. I'll never knock honest work or customer-facing jobs. I've done them myself.
In the province where I live, jobs are so scarce that people take 250 to 300 pesos a day to work night shifts at a bakery or something similar. I think it's a tough market out there for a lot of Filipinos
Who cares what other people think? The ones who judge you for working at McDonald's probably don't make anywhere near that.
I told people I managed a Starbucks and they seemed to like that. But Starbucks is much more of a luxury brand in the Philippines than in the US. I think people like hard work and money, so if you show both, people will respect you. But real talk, 100K a month for a manager is pretty low even in America, unless you mean shift manager. My baristas at Starbucks made more than that.
I heard getting them to keep showing up, and on time, is a challenge
Damn…. Then how much do Jubilee managers make?
